Expert Xactimate-certified Trainers Provide Advanced Education to Streamline Claims

MIAMI — DDA Forensics (DDAF) launches free Xactimate training courses throughout Florida. DDAF provides forensic engineering, building consulting, and expert witness services for attorneys and insurance carriers on residential and commercial claims. The course provides an overview of Xactimate software, common pitfalls of estimating, pricing manipulation, and line-item details. Led by DDAF managing partners Jonathon Diego, Xactimate certified trainer, and Brian Peterson, certified mediator, the class will expose the red flags and deceptive tactics of utilizing the software that can produce inaccurate damage estimates in litigation. Adjusters earn 2 CE credits. Attorneys earn 2 CLE credits. Email info@DDAForensics.com or visit us online to learn more or register.

“The class is very useful. Xactimate is something we see in almost every claim, yet it’s a foreign concept to many attorneys. The class was beneficial for all experience levels, whether you’re an attorney who’s been practicing for 20 years, or a young associate getting an introduction to the world of insurance claims. We’re attorneys, we’re not adjusters writing estimates every day,” says Anthony Perez, attorney and senior partner, Luks, Santaniello, Petrillo, Cohen & Peterfriend.

With over 20 years of industry experience, the DDAF team specializes in causation determination, construction defect, design defect, structural analysis, and damage analysis from perils related to wind, hail, fire, water, tornado and flood.

“We work with a lot of attorneys and carriers throughout the state and one of the biggest issues we consistently address are the nuances and discrepancies in Xactimate estimates. Our goal is to help streamline the process for both parties,” says Jonathon Diego, managing partner, certified Xactimate trainer, DDA Forensics.

Diego carries advanced education in claims management, construction, restoration and provides building consultant and expert witness services to DDAF clients. He is a licensed multi-state adjuster, licensed general contractor and holds the prestigious Xactimate Certified Trainer and Xactimate Level 3 certifications. He has an associate degree in Claims (AIC), and carries HAAG Residential, Commercial and Wind Inspector certifications; Level 1 Certified Thermographer; IICRC certification; Tile Roofing Industry Alliance (TRI) – Certified Florida High Wind Zone Installer certification; Certified Mold Assessor & Remediator certification; EPA Lead Save Renovator certification. He has managed numerous residential and commercial claims from major weather events including hurricanes Ian, Michael, and Irma in Florida; hurricanes Ida and Isaac in Louisiana; in addition to catastrophic events throughout the nation due to tornado, hail, wind, fire and flood events. Diego is a licensed Florida all-lines adjuster; Louisiana property & casualty adjuster; Georgia property & casualty adjuster; and Texas all-lines adjuster. Prior to launching DDAF, Diego has 15 years of experience working for national insurance carriers and independent adjusting firms. As a field adjuster and mediation specialist, he handled litigation mediations, analyzed risk exposure, created dispute resolution strategies, managed loss adjustments, and led negotiations with plaintiff counsel and public adjusters.

“Knowledge is power, especially in Florida’s rapidly changing insurance market. We’re committed to helping advance education in the industry to help streamline the claims process. It’s a win-win for everyone,” says Brian Peterson, managing partner, certified mediator, DDA Forensics.

Peterson is a state-certified mediator, property insurance expert consultant, and currently serves as a corporate representative for DDAF clients. He has over 20 years of experience in insurance claims handling and helps carriers and attorneys with complex residential and commercial claim settlements. He has managed numerous claims for hurricanes Ian, Michael, Irma in Florida; hurricane Ida in Louisiana; as well as catastrophe response and business interruption claims in Alabama and Mississippi related to the BP oil spill. Prior to launching DDAF, Peterson worked for national insurance carriers as a field adjuster, claims adjuster, litigation and mediation specialist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Florida International University.
