DDA Forensics Principal Civil and Structural Engineer, Siva Munuswamy, will be presenting on “Forensics Engineering: Investigation and Evaluation of Effects of Various Types of Perils on Structural Components” at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) February Luncheon in West Palm Beach, Florida on Feb. 13.

Siva’s presentation will introduce the practice of forensic engineering and discuss various types of perils and their effects on residential and commercial structures. He will share scientific methods of the evaluation process, with a focus on investigating the causes of failures, field investigation, data collection, analysis, and report preparation. Attendees earn 1 PDH credit.

Siva has more than 30 years of experience providing expert engineering services in the areas of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel structural systems, post-tensioned (PT) floor systems, creep and shrinkage behavior of concrete structures, material testing, punching shear behavior of flat plates, infrastructure planning design & optimization, contract documents, project management, inspection and evaluation of existing structures, and water resources management. He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida, an Adjunct Professor at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), and is actively involved in the following professional organizations: American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI), Precast/ Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). Siva has published many journal articles and delivered numerous lectures and presentations.
