MIAMI —  Nicholas Carlstrom joins the DDA Forensics team as a Building Consultant. Carlstrom has over 10 years of experience in the construction, restoration and insurance industries. As a Licensed Building Contractor and Licensed Multi-State Adjuster, he has extensive knowledge of construction and restoration standards and property insurance adjusting practices. At DDA Forensics, he will work alongside the company’s esteemed engineers and consultants and utilize his advanced expertise to facilitate comprehensive and accurate property insurance claim settlements. DDA Forensics provides forensic investigation, engineering and consulting services to insurance carriers and attorneys throughout Florida and Louisiana.

Carlstrom holds the esteemed Xactimate Trainer and Xactimate Level 3 certifications. He is an accredited AHERA Building Inspector, certified IICRC Water Restoration Technician, and certified Project Management Professional. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Space Operations, Operations Science and Technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Prior to joining DDA Forensics, Carlstrom worked as a Licensed Independent Adjuster and managed a variety of residential and commercial claims. He provided field inspections and quality assurance file reviews for insurance carriers and third-party administrators.

He started in the industry as a Construction Manager and reviewed architectural plans and engineering reports to determine the scope, schedule, and budget for a variety of residential and commercial construction projects. He also reviewed purchase orders and subcontracts, recorded change orders and information requests, updated critical path schedules, and communicated with project stakeholders.

Carlstrom has extensive experience managing emergency repairs from catastrophic losses resulting from wind, water, flood and fire damage. As a certified IICRC Water Restoration Technician, he is adept at creating detailed restoration plans and producing moisture maps. As an accredited AHERA Building Inspector, Nicholas inspects residential and commercial buildings for suspected asbestos containing materials and produces survey reports to inform property owners of potentially hazardous materials which may be disturbed during construction activities.
