Dr. Ziad Azzi Unveils New Insights in Continuing Education Series

MIAMIDr. Ziad Azzi, PhD, MBA, PE, CGC, CCC, director of engineering and civil & structural engineer at DDA Forensics, presented “Recognizing Wind Damage: Where & What to Look For” in a webinar hosted by the South Florida Claims Association (SFCA) on April 23 from 12-1 p.m. The webinar helps adjusters identify wind damage with the latest and greatest industry best practices and was open to all licensed Florida adjusters and SFCA members. Attendees earned 1 CE credit. A raffle was held to win the BLAZE 165 ft. laser distance tape measuring tool with area and volume, a valuable tool for busy insurance adjusters.

“It was a pleasure to present to the South Florida Claims Association. My lifelong passion has always been teaching, and it was simply natural to transfer my expertise in wind, forensic and structural engineering to over 150 participants from the insurance and claims industries,” says Azzi.

Committed to ongoing education and maintaining industry-leading accreditations, Dr. Azzi brings over ten years of experience in structural and geotechnical engineering, structural analysis, structural dynamics, earthquake and wind analysis of structures, aeroelasticity, vibration and inspection, as well as evaluation of existing residential and commercial structures. He has published numerous articles and conference papers and delivered lectures and presentations throughout the globe. He is an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University (FIU), teaching undergraduate and graduate-level design courses. He proudly holds HAAG Residential, HAAG Commercial and HAAG Wind Damage Inspector certifications. He is actively involved in the following professional organizations: American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Institute for Steel Construction (AISC), and the American Association for Wind Engineering (AAWE).
