DDA Forensics attended the 3rd Annual Live Burn event in Orlando on May 1st. The immersive industry training brings together claims professionals, restoration experts, and forensic consultants from across the region.
Our Executive General Adjuster, J. Abraham Hanze, AIC, PTC, presented “Tales of Successful Fire Recoveries,” offering real-world insights into the complexities and best practices involved in large-loss fire claims. His session highlighted lessons learned from the field and strategies that help policyholders, insurers, and forensic teams work together toward accurate assessments and timely recoveries. His session drew from real-world experience managing large-loss commercial and residential fire claims.
Joining the lineup of expert presenters was Josh Plummer, CFI, CFEI, CVFI, Fire Consultant at Jack Ward Fire Consultants, who shared compelling field experiences and technical insights from fire investigations.
One of the event’s highlights was a live demonstration by a highly trained detective K-9, who showcased the critical role these dogs play in locating potential accelerants like gasoline following a fire. Their precision and training serve as a powerful investigative tool in determining fire origin and cause.
