Director of Engineering Recognized as a Young Professional Recipient for Structures Congress 2026
BOSTON— DDA Forensics is proud to announce that Director of Engineering Dr. Ziad Azzi was selected as a recipient of the SEI Futures Fund Young Professional Scholarship to attend the 2026 Structures Congress, hosted by the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The 2026 award recipients included 50 students, 28 young professionals, and 12 future leaders representing 31 states and 6 countries. The annual Structures Congress will be held April 29 – May 1 in Boston.
Azzi was named among a select group of young professionals nationwide recognized for their contributions to the structural engineering field and their commitment to advancing the profession. The SEI Futures Fund Scholarship provides financial support for emerging leaders in structural engineering to participate in the Structures Congress and the SE 2050 Summit, where they engage with industry experts, attend technical sessions, and contribute to committee meetings and the broader advancement of the profession.
“This recognition reflects Dr. Azzi’s commitment to advancing structural engineering through both research and real-world application,” said Jonathon Diego, Managing Partner at DDA Forensics. “His work continues to elevate the standard for forensic engineering, delivering findings grounded in science.”
Structures Congress is one of the premier events in the structural engineering industry, bringing together professionals from across the country to collaborate, share research, and address emerging challenges in the built environment.
At DDA Forensics, Azzi plays a critical role in leading complex forensic investigations, contributing to peer-reviewed research, and supporting clients with clear, concise, and conclusive reporting.
“I’m honored to have been selected. Attending this year’s congress is an exciting opportunity to connect with leading structural engineers, learn about the latest research and innovations in our field, and continue growing as a young professional in the fields of civil, structural, and wind engineering. Thank you to SEI for continuously supporting engineers and creating opportunities like this to foster professional development within our industry.
