CLASS DESCRIPTION
Harnessing the Storm: Advanced Wind Science Applications in Structural Engineering For Attorneys & Insurance Adjusters
In this engaging class, insurance adjusters and attorneys will gain valuable insights into the intricacies of wind science and its implications for property damage claims. Led by DDA Forensics engineering experts with PhDs in wind science, the session will introduce the dynamics of hurricanes and wind-driven rain, highlighting their effects on structural integrity. Attendees will learn about experimental testing methods, the impact of vibration on curtain wall systems, and the importance of aerodynamic testing and atmospheric boundary layer exposure. Additionally, the presentation will cover essential topics such as wind tunnel scaling, rigid model testing, and pressure testing, all of which are crucial for understanding the challenges posed by irregularly shaped buildings in the context of insurance assessments and litigation.
